Mary Magdalene had gone to the tomb in the darkness before dawn. She was also “in the darkness” about the truth of Jesus being alive, resurrected from the grave of death. (See John 20:1)

She had run to get two disciples and had followed them back to the tomb. Mary stayed after the two men left. Surely the sun had risen by that time. She stooped and looked into the tomb and saw two angels seated there who had asked her why she was crying. Her answer revealed her thoughts… “They” had taken away the body of her Lord.

(NASB) John 20:14-16 “When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, and did not know that it was Jesus.

15 Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?” Supposing Him to be the gardener, she said to Him, “Sir, if you have carried Him away, tell me where you have laid Him, and I will take Him away.”

16 Jesus said to her, “Mary!” She turned and said to Him in Hebrew, “Rabboni!” (which means, Teacher).”

This was, indeed, a new day, a beginning of a day filled with God’s love expressed in one word, “Mary!”

God’s love is expressed to you, over and over in Scripture. God’s words, His promises are real and you can live in the reality of God’s love for you personally. What a beginning of a new day filled with God’s expressed love to you through what Jesus Christ has done on the cross and in His resurrection.

What can a child of God, who knows Jesus as Savior in their life, expect at the beginning of a new day?

We can expect God’s love to be real – no matter what circumstances develop or what people’s actions are toward us.

(NASB) Romans 8:38-39 “For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,

39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

You can choose to begin this new day with full confidence in God’s love for you. God expresses it through the Lord Jesus Christ and Scripture!
