“Woman, why are you crying?”
Mary Magdalene stood outside the empty tomb, crying. She had been asked by two angels, “Woman, why are you crying?” Her only response had been “They have taken my Lord away,” and I don’t know where they have put him.”
Her tears were still rolling down her cheeks when she noticed another man standing not far from her.
(NASB) John 20:14, 16 “When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, and did not know that it was Jesus.
16 Jesus said to her, “Mary!”
What did Jesus say to Mary Magdalene to reveal His resurrection reality?
He called her by name. Mary looked at Jesus but did not recognize Him until He called her by name. She knew that Jesus had existed, and then He proved He now existed, that He had resurrected life after the grave of death.
Jesus will also prove that same truth to you – when you search the Scriptures with honesty. Put your name in the blank…
“________________,” why are you crying (frustrated, angry)?
Jesus said, (NASB) John 14:1, 6
1 “DO NOT let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me.”
6 “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”
