The Curtain: the Body of Christ
(NASB) Matthew 27:50-51 “And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit.
51 And behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth shook and the rocks were split.”
How does the torn curtain have significance for us? How does God”™s word equate the curtain with the body of Christ Jesus?
(NASB) 1 Timothy 2:5-6 “For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
6 who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony given at the proper time.”
(NASB) Hebrews 10: 11-14 “Every priest stands daily ministering and offering time after time the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins;
12 but He, having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, SAT DOWN AT THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD,
13 waiting from that time onward UNTIL HIS ENEMIES BE MADE A FOOTSTOOL FOR HIS FEET.
14 For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified.”
We can confidently enter into prayer to God the Father through God the Son, Jesus Christ. Why?
(NASB) Hebrews 10:19-22 “Therefore, brethren, since we have
confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus,
20 by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, His flesh,
21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God,
22 let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.”
It is through the body of Christ Jesus by which anyone can enter into the presence of God. Jesus Christ is the Mediator Who has been accepted into heaven ““ there is none other!
