Jesus”™ Perspective
Jesus stood during His “˜trials”™ before the Jewish leaders ““ three different trials ““ one before Annas, one before Caiaphas and one before the official Jewish Sanhedrin. After these religious trials Jesus stood before Pilate, Herod and then Pilate again.
Jesus stood, knowing He would be condemned to die by crucifixion. He was not surprised. He had told His disciples that all of this would happen.
(NASB) Matthew 20:18-19 “”˜Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem; and the Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn Him to death,
19 and will hand Him over to the Gentiles to mock and scourge and crucify Him, and on the third day He will be raised up.”
Jesus came to fulfill the Law and the Prophets
(NIV) Matthew 5:17-18 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.”
The prophet Isaiah foretold that everything the LORD intended would happen:
(NASB) Isaiah 55:6-8, 11 “Seek the LORD while He may be found;
Call upon Him while He is near.
7Let the wicked forsake his way
And the unrighteous man his thoughts;”™
And let him return to the LORD,
And He will have compassion on him,
And to our God,
For He will abundantly pardon.
8 “˜For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,”™ declares the LORD.
11 So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth;
It will not return to Me empty,
Without accomplishing what I desire,
And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.”
We are to seek the LORD while we have the opportunity”¦
Jesus IS accomplishing Biblical prophecy today.
