Observer or Participant
(NASB) Matthew 26:37a “And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee”¦”
Jesus chose three men to go deeper into the Garden of Gethsemane in the dark of night. Peter, James and John had been chosen to go on the mountain top when Jesus was transfigured. Now they had been chosen to go into the valley of the shadow of death with Jesus. Both times, they were observers; both times Jesus was the only one Who could fully participate in those events.
When you hear of a close relative or friend who has been given the bad news of terminal cancer”¦you grieve, love and support them, but you are only an observer.
When you are the one who has been diagnosed with terminal cancer, then you are the participant.
Jesus understands your feelings and your fears, either as an observer or as the participant.
God”™s word in the Holy Bible brings comfort, He brings comfort. His peace is given to those who turn in trust to Him for the valley of the shadow of death. (See Psalm 23)
Think about this, it is incredible! When a follower of Christ dies physically, they never “˜see”™ or experience death. They may be suffering and in pain but when that final breath comes”¦they are immediately in the presence of God. Going through the door of physical death on earth is entrance into heaven itself.
This is a question which has never been asked exactly in this way on this website: When you die, will you be going through the door of physical death into the very presence of God in heaven?
You can have that insurance and assurance by receiving Jesus Christ as your Savior. It is only through the Lord Jesus that anyone can be saved.

May you be a participant “˜in Christ”™ for your eternity.
