Jesus prayed for His eleven disciples in His High Priestly prayer.

For what reason did Jesus send His eleven disciples into the world? They were to accomplish the purposes of God. Jesus had been sent into the world by His Father to do what was needed to accomplish God”™s purposes and the disciples were sent in the same way!

(NASB) John 17:18 “As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world.”

Jesus had work to complete and He would do that on the cross. It was there that He had victory over sin, death, and Satan. His work also was to prepare these men and send them into the world”¦to give the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Why did Jesus set Himself apart for sacred use? So that His followers would be set apart for sacred service to God.

(NASB) John 17:19 “For their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth.”

Followers of Christ Jesus are set apart for God”™s use

by the truth of God, for the truth of God.

(NASB) Romans 12:1

“THEREFORE I urge you, brethren,

by the mercies of God,

to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice,

acceptable to God,

which is your spiritual service of worship.”
