There are many definitions of truth floating around today”¦”˜your truth is not my truth”™, “˜what”™s true for you isn”™t true for me”™, nothing is truth, all is false. How misleading and depressing”¦nothing on which you can trustingly live. This foundation is unstable and undependable.

Followers of Christ have comfort and can live with confidence because our God is Truth. His Word is Truth. He is fully worthy of our trust.

The dictionary states that Truth is most commonly used to mean correspondence with facts or with what actually occurred. Some synonyms are: Veracity implies factual accuracy and honesty, principally with respect to spoken or written expression. Verity applies principally to an enduring or repeatedly demonstrated truth.

God”™s words are accurate and honest; He has repeatedly demonstrated His truth and its endurance. What better recommendation do we have than God and His Word of Truth?

Jesus prayed for His disciples:

(NASB) John 17:17 “Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth.”

The followers of Christ are set apart by God. Jesus prayed that we would be sanctified (to be purified, separated for God to use us for sacred service, consecrated). And how is this done? By the Truth; God”™s Word is Truth.

Jesus is the Word, He is the Truth. Jesus came into the world to bear witness to the Truth. (See John 1:17)

Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6)

Have you been sanctified in the truth of God? You have if you have received the Word into your life, the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord.
