Paul was an apostle of Jesus Christ who witnessed to his jailers. He continued to witness and encouraged believers even while he was in prison by writing letters such as:

(NASB) Philippians 1:12-14 “Now I want you to know, brethren, that my circumstances have turned out for the greater progress of the gospel,

13 so that my imprisonment in the cause of Christ has become well known throughout the whole praetorian guard and to everyone else,

14 and that most of the brethren, trusting in the Lord because of my imprisonment, have far more courage to speak the word of God without fear.”

There are believers in Christ Jesus today who are imprisoned for their faith in various countries. What did Jesus say in His High Priestly prayer for His followers?

(NASB) John 17:14-15 “I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

15 “˜I do not ask You to take them out of the world, but to keep them from the evil one.”™“

This prayer was for Jesus”™ followers, men who had followed Him, been taught by Him for three years. Jesus”™ true home was heaven, not the world whose unbelief resulted in hatred. Jesus prayed for His followers to be protected from the evil one. He did not pray for God to take them out of the world.

Even so, today men and women are witnessing to the living God; they are witnessing to Jesus Christ”™s power and love to those who persecute them.

Your witness to your faith in the Lord Jesus in the place where you live and work is important. It is imperative in order for the Lord Jesus”™ love and power to be known by those who do not know Him as their Savior and Lord.

Your attitude and actions should reflect your words.
