Who prays for you? Do you have anyone praying for you, for your best in today”™s circumstances? If you are a follower of Christ you do! You have Jesus the High Priest, praying for you, interceding for you!

Jesus, Who is God the Son, prayed for His eleven followers on the night of His betrayal by Judas Iscariot. He stated that He was not praying for the world at this time”¦He was praying aloud in the presence of these eleven common men. What would it have been like for them to hear Jesus”™ words as He prayed for them?

(NASB) John 17:9-10a “I ask on their behalf; I do not ask on behalf of the world, but of those whom You have given Me; for they are Yours; and all things that are Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine;”¦”

Think about that”¦what if you heard these words being prayed for you? God the Father gives Jesus His followers (is that you?) and His followers belong to God the Father (that”™s our hope in Jesus Christ). That”™s security!

(NASB) John 17:10b “and I have been glorified in them.”

Jesus added more grand information for His disciples to hear: the glory He had came to Him through these eleven common men.

In the first verse of John 17 Jesus prayed to glorify His Father and now He was praying and confirming that He had already been glorified (exalted, honored, magnified) by these disciples. Incredible isn”™t it? The Son of God Who is High Priest forever: exalted, honored and magnified by His followers.

Is He interceding for you?

(NIV) Hebrews 7:24-25 “but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood. 25Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.”
