Letting Go”¦to Let God Work
What have you got in your life which you are hanging onto”¦tightly? If you have not turned it over to the Lord God, how can He bless you with His leading?
Letting go of a long cherished dream is hard! It is not impossible, but it is beyond difficult.
One way to release your deep desires to God is to hold your hands out to God, palms up. If you choose to give your desperate hopes to God, then tell Him what those hopes are ““ and turn your hands over to release them into His hands. God”™s best is in His mind and plans for you. He will work in your life so that He can work out His ways and will for you.
Jesus was totally dependent on His Father for all His choices, actions and words. This is evident as He was walking with His eleven disciples to the Garden of Gethsemane on the night He would be betrayed. At some point He prayed a poignant prayer that is given in John 17.
(NASB) John 17:1a “JESUS SPOKE these things; and lifting up His eyes to heaven”¦”
When you and I pray, we also need to look up to the Father. When we pray, we too can depend on God (His power and authority) to hear (our prayer) and to answer (in His way and in His time).
Jesus would later pray”¦to His Father and come to that point when He would say with deep grief (See Matthew 26:38) “”˜My Father, if this cannot pass away unless I drink it, Your will be done.”™” (Matthew 26:42)
Was it hard for Jesus to pray this? Yes! Was it impossible? No! And the same is true for you.
Let go of those things over which you have no control, let go of your cherished dreams that seem to never be answered. And let God work out His best for you!
Letting go”¦to let God work”¦is to trust Him with your life.
