As Christmas is fast approaching”¦just four more days to shop until we drop”¦is that how we approach this most sacred Holiday? Even as followers of the Christ, we ignore the reason for the season”¦Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God Who came to take away our sins.

Just as the disciples did not understand Jesus”™ warning that He was going to be going away in a little while (He would be betrayed and taken to die on the cross), we also don”™t seem to understand that we are to celebrate the birth of Christ Jesus with thanks-filled hearts.

Jesus was truthful as He also gave those eleven men the encouragement of His resurrection”¦for those men would see Jesus raised from death. They would also see Him ascend into heaven as He went to the Father.

“˜Listen”™ to these men:

(NASB) John 16:16-18 “”˜A little while, and you will no longer see Me; and again a little while, and you will see Me.”™

17 Some of His disciples then said to one another, “˜What is this thing He is telling us, “˜A little while, and you will not see Me; and again a little while, and you will see Me”™; and, “˜because I go to the Father”™?

18 so they were saying, “˜What is this that He says, “˜A little while”™? We do not know what He is talking about.”
