Jesus is true to His word”¦
Disappointment, disillusionment and distrust occur when something is promised but not delivered.
We, who are committed to Jesus Christ, many times have to wait for His timing in delivering on His promises. Waiting on God is never a waste of time or futile.
Jesus promised His disciples that He would send the Helper (the Counselor Who is the Holy Spirit).
(NASB) John 16:7 “But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you.”
Jesus never said “˜why”™ it was necessary for Him to have to leave them before He would send them the Helper (the Holy Spirit).
Let”™s explore some possibilities:
- Jesus needed to give His life as a sacrifice for our sins.
- Jesus defeated sin, death, and Satan on the cross of sacrifice.
- Jesus needed to be resurrected from the grave of death by God”™s power ““ this is a proof of God accepting His sacrifice in our place.
- Jesus needed to ascend into heaven and sit on the right hand of God ““ the place of authority and power in order to send the Holy Spirit to live within His followers.
