When a person is caught in a lie, they have given away their integrity. For the liar to regain another”™s trust takes lots of time and keeping their word. A good reminder for us”¦we should not promise something that we cannot do. Oh we may have good intentions. Consider politicians who have good intentions on the campaign trail, but when elected they run into all kinds of curves, roadblocks and walls and their word is not kept.

The Lord Jesus has never made a promise He hasn”™t kept or will keep. People fail in their promises; you and I fail to keep our words but God never has or never will.

Because of God”™s faithfulness to fulfill His promises we can build our lives on His words, because they are truth. God cannot lie (See Titus 1:2); therefore He proves that He is safe to be trusted.

Jesus gave us proof that He was believable.

(NASB) John 14:28-29 “You heard that I said to you, “˜I go away, and I will come to you.”™ If you loved Me, you would have rejoiced because I go to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.

29 “˜Now I have told you before it happens, so that when it happens, you may believe.”™”

Jesus did go away”¦He was crucified, died and was buried then the third day He “˜rose”™ from the grave of death. He was resurrected by the power of God. After fifty days He ascended into heaven ““ He went to His Father. Jesus gave His disciples proof of all of this when He prophesied what was going to happen. Jesus”™ words are believable because what He promised has happened.

Jesus”™ promises and the keeping of His promises

are proof that His words are truth.
