How does God know if you really love Him? Jesus stated it quite clearly:

(NASB) John 14:23 “”˜If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him.”

Isn”™t that something?! Saying words of love doesn”™t make it true”¦to really love God you and I need to obey Him.

Love is lacking until obedience is activated.

Why can God”™s words be trusted? They can be trusted because God is truth. And He has backed up His words of love with action. In the Garden of Eden”¦when Adam and Eve disobeyed God”¦His actions of love were immediate, for He promised a Savior”¦[Messiah] to crush sin, Satan, and death. For all of these were involved in the actions of Adam and Eve.

Keeping God”™s word takes effort, commitment and love for Him. Obeying what God teaches us through the Holy Bible will prove our love for Him.

Notice what else that verse states: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit will come and live with us. God wants a close and intimate relationship with you and me. Incredible isn”™t it?!

Jesus had stated the positive, then He followed it with the negative aspect:

(NASB) John 14:24 “He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father”™s who sent Me.”

What is at least one lesson about God as a wise parent? He is our Father”¦He gives us warning upon warning to obey Him. He knows our need and what is best for us.

God the Father speaks truth and does not try to soften His warnings to keep from hurting our feelings. There is too much at stake ““ our eternal lives.

“”˜If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word.”
