Jesus”™ Promise”¦
There are church-related homes where children are nurtured and loved. Many of these children have been abused in their family situations and some are without parents.
Orphans today need godly parents who will love them, nurture them physically, mentally, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. Perhaps you and your spouse are being “˜called”™ to be a parent to these children who need a home of love.
There are excellent group homes for these children without parents, but the facilities are limited for the many orphans in many countries.
Baptists, Methodists and other denominations have such homes for children in need. America, the continent of Africa, Central America, Russia, Romania, and others countries have orphanages housing needy children. The need is great”¦is God calling you to open your heart and home to such a child?
Contact the denomination you are most comfortable with and ask about their opportunities for adoption or even foster care.
One such ministry is Florida Baptist Children”™s Homes. www.FBCHomes.org.
Why is this devotional focusing on this need today? Jesus said to His disciples in the Upper Room:
(NASB) John 14:18 “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.”
Jesus was leaving His disciples, but He promised to come to them”¦He would send His Holy Spirit to them after His death, resurrection and ascension into heaven. Pentecost is an important day, for that is the day He sent His Holy Spirit to live in His followers”¦when you receive Jesus into your life, you are not an orphan, it is a day of celebration”¦it is your day of adoption, it is your day of Pentecost!!!
