People who doubt or who malign the existence of God, many times do not want to give an honest look at the evidence which God has given about Himself. There are at least two men who have written books about their unbelief in God. One man set out to prove to himself that God was not valid by studying the Bible”¦he is now a confirmed believer in the Lord Jesus Christ (Josh McDowell ““ “˜Evidence that Demands a Verdict”™ and other books). Another man interviewed many different Christians who were committed to following Christ (Lee Strobel ““ “˜The Case for Christ”™ and other books). These two men looked for evidence concerning God and they found that evidence. They became convinced that He is Who He says He is.

Faith in the living Lord Jesus Christ is based on facts, not emotions. Feelings will be a part of our faith in God but our faith is to be built on the foundation of solid facts, the authority of God”™s words.

Jesus was talking with His disciples during the Last Supper, telling them truths they would later more fully understand.

(NASB) John 14:10-11 “Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own initiative, but the Father abiding in Me does His works.

11 “˜Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; otherwise believe because of the works themselves.”

Jesus, once again, explains the close intimacy and oneness He and the Father have. And He follows that up with (NIV) John 14:11 “Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves.”

If Jesus”™ words are not enough, look at the evidence of the miracles that point to His intimacy and oneness He has with His Father. Only God can do the things which Jesus did, for Jesus is God.

This is a hard concept for us to grasp, isn”™t it? Jesus the Son is God, the Father is God and the Holy Spirit is God. Yet Jesus is not the Father and not the Holy Spirit. They are three separate Persons, yet They are One God.

Jesus said to believe the evidence of the miracles, if not His words.

What evidence are you convinced of concerning the Lord Jesus?

To seek God is to seek evidence of His existence, of His love and His grace.

What have you looked for which convinces you of God”™s existence, His love and His grace?
