Jesus has gathered His twelve disciples for the Passover meal”¦He has washed each man”™s feet”¦and now He gives further evidence of Who He is.

How does the God of the Bible define a true prophet? To know God”™s definition we need to go to His words of truth. Not my truth or your truth, but God”™s truth.

(NIV) Deuteronomy 13:1-4 “IF A prophet or one who foretells by dreams, appears among you and announces to you a miraculous sign or wonder, 2and if the sign or wonder of which he has spoken takes place, and he says, “˜Let us follow other gods”™ (gods you have not known) “˜and let us worship them,”™ 3you must not listen to the words of that prophet or dreamer. The Lord your God is testing you to find out whether you love him with all your heart and with all your soul. 4It is the Lord your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him.”™”

Jesus was a true Prophet”¦for what He said would happen did (and there are more prophecies to be fulfilled). He never said for anyone to worship, love and follow any god but the true God.

What happened between the time of the Passover meal and the time of Jesus”™ arrest because of His betrayer, Judas Iscariot?

The following prophecy was quoted by Jesus from Psalm 41:9 “Even my close friend, whom I trusted, he who ate my bread, has lifted up his heel against me.” (NIV)

(NASB) John 13:18 “”˜I do not speak of all of you. I know the ones I have chosen; but it is that the Scripture may be fulfilled, “™He who eats My bread has lifted up his heel against Me.”™”

Jesus knew that Judas Iscariot had already met with the religious leaders to coordinate the betrayal. God”™s timing moved through these people who were out to arrest and kill Jesus.

(NASB) John 13:19 “From now on I am telling you before it comes to pass, so that when it does occur, you may believe that I am He.“

Lest you forget, dire circumstances are not the final act. God”™s plans are never thwarted by people. Being where God wants you is the best place to be.

Will youtrust Him in your circumstances because Jesus IS God and He is absolutely trustworthy”¦for you”¦this day”¦in your circumstances?
