Messiah”¦Instructions Are to be Followed
What is being offered to you today? Many people work to be offered a raise, a promotion, a job. Anxious thoughts, angry emotions, or even fear fills the possibilities which life offers.
Christ Jesus, the Messiah, came to offer you life and to offer you His peace. (NASB) Philippians 4:4-7 “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!
5 Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near.
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
When we follow His instructions His peace does go beyond our comprehension. Peace is given in spite of whatever fills our mind and heart and/or circumstances.
(NASB) Matthew 21:1-3 “WHEN THEY had approached Jerusalem and had come to Bethphage, at the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples,
2 saying to them, “˜Go into the village opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied there and a colt with her; untie them and bring them to Me.
3 If anyone says anything to you, you shall say, “˜The Lord has need of them,”™ and immediately he will send them.”™”
Jesus had come to fulfill God”™s work for Him ““ perhaps Jesus had secretly pre-arranged His transportation into Jerusalem. Why the secrecy? The Jewish religious leaders were looking for opportunities to arrest Him (See John 11:55-57). Jesus kept a low profile until He triumphantly entered Jerusalem (See John 11:54).
(NASB) Matthew 21:6-7 “The disciples went and did just as Jesus had instructed them,
7 and brought the donkey and the colt, and laid their coats on them; and He sat on the coats.”
When we follow Jesus”™ instructions
we may not fore see
all the results of our obedience.
