When building a home in Florida, our builder tested the ground for pipe clay. If there had been that type of soil it would have had to be dug out and replaced with good building soil. Before any building is begun, it must first be given a solid foundation. For the building to weather the storms which will come, it must be on a secure foundation. If a building is built on soil that will react to cold and heat, it will compromise the building, no matter how well built.

Our lives must also be built on a sure foundation and that foundation is the Lord Jesus Christ. There is a Day coming when Jesus will judge those who have not put God”™s words into practice in their daily lives. He will judge those who ignore His words.

Wise people build their lives on a solid foundation

by doing what God says:

(NASB) Matthew 7:24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock.”

All people will experience storms in their lives”¦no one is exempt:

(NASB) Matthew 7:25 “And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock.”

Christ Jesus will one day judge the foundation

I am choosing to build upon today.

(NASB) Matthew 7:26-27 “Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.

27 The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell ““ and great was its fall.”

What is the foundation of your life?

Will it show you to be wise or foolish?
