To have a door open because you knock on it means that there is someone who opens that door.

Jesus gave this teaching concerning prayer in His Sermon on the Mount”¦

(NASB) Matthew 7:7-8 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

8“˜For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”

As Christians who pray, upon what door are we to knock?

Isn”™t the answer”¦God”™s door? The door where He is on the other side, waiting to open when we knock?

What a picture of God! He is waiting to answer your knock. When was the last time you knocked on His door? And did you expect Him to answer, to open His door to you?

Jesus said in (NASB) John 10:7-9 “So Jesus said to them again, “˜Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.

8 “˜All who came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them.

9 “˜I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.”

Going through the door which leads to God is to “˜go through”™ the Lord Jesus Christ. I must have a personal relationship with Him”¦He alone is the Door through which anyone must go to have eternal life and be in the presence of God Himself. The word “˜gate”™ is used interchangeably with “˜door”™.

And when I enter through that gate, the Psalmist said it very well”¦

(NASB) Psalm 100:1- 5 SHOUT JOYFULLY to the Lord, all the earth.

2 Serve the Lord with gladness,

Come before Him with joyful singing.

3 Know that the Lord Himself is God;

It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;

We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

4 Enter His gates with thanksgiving

And His courts with praise.

Give thanks to Him, bless His name.

5 For the Lord is good;

His lovingkindness is everlasting

And His faithfulness to all generations.”

“¦”and to him who knocks it will be opened.”

“Enter His gates with thanksgiving

And His courts with praise.”
