(NASB) Matthew 7:7-8 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

8“˜For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”

In yesterday”™s devotional, “˜you”™ were the important subject in receiving the promises of God through your prayer.

Today, “˜God”™ will be the important focus in answering our prayers.

Look at the above verses again. In verse 8, “For everyone who asks receives”. To receive anything”¦there must be a giver. In this case the Giver is God.

What are we to ask God in order to receive from Him?

My first response is”¦I don”™t know!

What is your first response to the question, “˜What do I want to ask God?”™

What do you want to ask God?

When I decided on my question, I found I needed to look in God”™s word for the answer.

Your question will be different from mine”¦but whatever your question”¦look for the answer. One way is to use a concordance in the back of your Bible. Look up a key word and find the references which the concordance gives.

My question was: What do You (God) want to teach me today from Your word?

God”™s answer: (NASB) Psalm 1:2 “But his delight is in the law of the Lord,

And in His law he meditates day and night.”

Think about that! I am to delight in God”™s words. I am to reflectively think about His words, day and night.

Now that my question has been answered”¦what will I do with it? I can ignore it, I can think “˜how nice”™ and forget it, or I can do something with it.

To think about God”™s words day and night”¦one of the things I can do is to begin my day reading God”™s word and before I go to sleep, think about His word. Immersing my mind in God”™s words will change my pattern of thinking.

The Lord God is the Giver Who gives liberally to all who come to Him and ask.

“For everyone who asks receives”¦”
