The question which the Psalmist asked: Lord, who may dwell in your sanctuary? Who may live on your holy hill?

The answer is found in Psalm 15 and the Sermon on the Mount. This is a continuation of comparison made between Psalm 15 and Jesus”™ Sermon on the Mount.

God”™s words are practical applications of His intentions for people who follow Christ as their Savior and Lord. The following is an evaluation:

Psalm 15Sermon on the Mount

7) v4 despises a vile man, a reprobate”¦”¦”¦”¦”¦

Mt 7:15-23 recognize people

by their work if of God or not

)v4 honors those who fear the Lord”¦”¦”¦”¦”¦..

Mt 6:1-18 acts of

righteousness: Giving, Prayer & Fasting

9) v4 keeps oath, even when it hurts”¦”¦”¦”¦”¦”¦.

Mt 5:33-37 let “˜yes”™ be “˜yes”™ a

“˜no”™ be “˜no”™

10)v5 lends money without charging interest”¦..

Mt 5:42 lend to those who ask

to borrow

11)v5 doesn”™t accept bribe against the innocent..

Mt 7:15-23 know people by

their works ““ if good or bad

7) Evaluating another person, testing whether they are godly in their actions and attitude is not being judgmental”¦it is being wise. We are to recognize people by the results of what they do.

) Honoring people who fear the Lord out of love for Him is to not “˜look down”™ on other churches and their members who may be different from your own denomination.

9) Before making a promise, consider it carefully”¦will you be able to keep it, if not, don”™t promise. When a promise is made”¦keep it even if it hurts”¦God made us a promise to send us a Redeemer, then He sent His Son to die for our sins.

10) Generosity will give without expecting a return on the investment.

11) Beware of people who give you a “˜gift”™ and expect you to return the favor down the road.

As I considered this Psalm in comparison to the Sermon on the Mount I found it clear that the Lord was not just talking to be popular with people”¦He meant what He said. To grow in my faith and mature as a child of God”¦I need to put His words into action in my life”¦

To grow in your faith and mature as a child of God”¦what do you need to do?
