What God says about worry is “¦ don”™t do it. Do not fret”¦for it leads only to evil. (See Psalm 37:8)

According to the dictionary worry as a verb can be defined as: To feel uneasy about some uncertain or threatening matter; be troubled.

worries as a noun or plural: The act of worrying or the condition of being worried; mental uneasiness or anxiety.

A word in Psalm 37 that conveys the same kind of meaning is fret, which means: to cause to be uneasy; distress; vex, to worry. Fret also means to gnaw or wear away.

And isn”™t that exactly what happens when we worry? Our thoughts “˜gnaw”™ at us, wearing away our trust in God and leading us to all kinds of stress.

(NASB) Matthew 6:24 “No one can serve two masters”¦”

You and I can only serve one master ““ what master do you choose when you worry and fret?

Serving God is to trust Him for our needs in this life”¦daily food and clothing are necessities”¦what did Jesus say about these necessities?

(NASB) Matthew 6:25 “For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?”

Jesus gave an example of your worth when He illustrated this truth:

(NASB) Matthew 6:26 “Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?”

You are valuable to God. Think about the beauty of birds”¦the many colors God used, the songs He gave them to sing…He made them and provides them with their daily food. And He says that you are of greater worth.

Have you thought about how valuable you are to God? God has provided for the birds of the air. Shouldn”™t you trust in Him to provide your daily needs?

You are of great worth to God.

You are of great value to Him.
