Our eyes are sensitive to light and darkness. When we step out into the bright sunlight, we squint until our eyes adjust. When we step out of a well lit room into the darkness of night”¦again our eyes must adjust to the difference.

Jesus was not talking about our physical eyes, but our spiritual eyesight. Spiritual eyesight will impact our motives and morals. Our spiritual eyes will discern the darkness of the world, when Christ Jesus has given us life and sight.

How would you rate your spiritual eyes? Are they filled with light of God”™s truth? Or are they darkened due to unbelief in the truth of God”™s word?

It is your choice and mine, either to be filled with the truth of the light which Christ Jesus gives or to be filled with the darkness of unbelief.

Belief in Jesus gives light to all of your life. Jesus said: “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.” (See NASB John 8:12)

Do you know Jesus, have you received His light?

Does your life reveal His light in you?

(Amplifed) Matthew 6:22-23 “The eye is the lamp of the body. So if your eye is sound, your entire body will be full of light.

23 But if your eye is unsound, your wh0le body will be full of darkness. If then the very light that in you [your “˜conscience”™] is darkened, how dense is that darkness!”

People who are physically blind have the ability (through faith in Christ Jesus) to have their whole being filled with the wonderful light of Christ.

Those who are physically able to see, if they do not have faith in Christ as their Savior and Lord, they are filled with the darkness of unbelief.

Where is the focus of your eyes?

Are they eyes of belief, or lack of belief?

What do your spiritual eyes reveal

about your heart and your motives?

Our words, our actions, our whole conduct shows whether we are committed followers of Christ or if our eyes are darkened to the truths of God.

What do your eyes reflect and reveal?
