(NASB) Matthew 6:9 “Pray, then, in this way:

“˜Our Father who is in heaven,

Hallowed be Your name.”

Jesus always referred to God as His Father and He has given you and me a pattern for praying. Jesus explained His relationship with God His Father throughout His ministry.

(NIV) Matthew 11:27 “All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”

Jesus has been given full authority from God His Father. When we have a desire to know God, to read/study His word, to know Jesus ““ we are included in having an opportunity in knowing the Father through the Son.

Jesus said in John 10:30 “I and My Father are one.” (KJV)

In the book of Isaiah, chapter 63, verse 16 points to God as “˜our Father”™.

(NASB) Isaiah 63:16 “For You are our Father, though Abraham does not know us

And Israel does not recognize us.

You, O Lord, are our Father,

Our Redeemer from of old is Your name.”

Jesus also told us where to find God the Father”¦in heaven.

He told you and me how to acknowledge God the Father”¦as hallowed”¦set apart because God”™s name reveals His character and nature. He is to be worshiped. Jesus knows His Father and the reverential respect that is due God”™s very name.

So when we pray, we are to acknowledge “˜Our Father who is in heaven.”™

We are to acknowledge that God”™s name is holy and when we do this we worship Him!

How shall you now pray?
