There are black billboards that have a few words or a sentence then the signature is: God

One of those billboards says, “˜What is it about “˜Thou shalt not”™ you do not understand?”™ ~ God

Jesus said in His discourse in the Sermon on the Mount:

(NASB) Matthew 5:27-28 “You have heard that it was said, “˜You shall not commit adultery”™;

28 but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”

Jesus, again, has taken one of the Ten Commandments to a level that includes heart thoughts.

We are responsible for what we think.

How God views sin and how you and I view sin is like night and day. We find “˜reasons”™ for what we think, say and do ““ and find ourselves “˜not guilty”™. God looks at our motives and thoughts, the hidden things in our lives, and declares “˜Guilty”™!

We are responsible for our own sins”¦why? Because sin is “¦ sin. You and I are not to cling to our sins, or hug them close to ourselves. We are to get

rid of them.

Jesus said:

(NASB) Matthew 5:29-30 “If your right eye makes you stumble, tear it out and throw it from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.

30 If your right hand makes you stumble, cut it off and throw it from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to go into hell.”

Jesus used “˜hyperbole”™ as a way to get His point across. The dictionary defines “˜hyperbole”™ as an exaggeration or extravagant statement used as a figure of speech.

The point is”¦what is it about “˜Thou shalt not”™ you don”™t understand?

We are responsible for what we think.
