Jesus pointed to what He had come to do”¦to fulfill God”™s Law and the prophecies of the Prophets when He gave His Sermon on the Mount.

(NASB) Matthew 5:17-20 “Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill.”

Christ came to fulfill the Law (See Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy). And He came to fulfill the prophecies God had given through the many prophets in the Old Testament. The first prophecy for Messiah is found immediately after the first sin of disobedience against God in Genesis 3:15.

(NASB) Matthew 5:18 “For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished.”

Have you heard, or even said, “˜not an iota”™. Iota is a Greek letter. A stroke of a pen in the Hebrew language is a small mark (it has been likened to a tail of a “˜J”™ in the English language).

Imagine the smallest part of God”™s Law and the implication: God”™s Law is important”¦the smallest part of it is important to Him. Nothing, absolutely nothing, will disappear until the Law of God has been completely fulfilled.

Make no mistake all of God”™s words are of utmost importance and will be done.

(NASB) Matthew 5:19 “Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.”

So, how do you view and value God”™s words? Do you make light of those you want to ignore? Or do you put all of God”™s words into action in your life because you see them as of great worth?

God, again, gives you and me a choice ““ what is yours?
