Fulfilled prophecy proclaims that God”™s truths are valid and He does not lie. His words can be depended upon for this life.

Isaiah prophesied about many aspects of the coming Messiah. When He came, He fulfilled all that concerned His life while on this earth.

How does this prophecy of Isaiah proclaim and describe Messiah?

(NASB) Matthew 12:18-21 (See Isaiah 42:1-4)

Behold, My Servant whom i have chosen; My Beloved in whom My soul is well-pleased; I will put My Spirit upon Him, And He shall proclaim justice to the Gentiles.

19 He will not quarrel, nor cry out; Nor will anyone hear His voice in the streets.

20 A battered reed He will not break off, And a smoldering wick He will not put out, Until He leads justice to victory.

21 And in His name the Gentiles will hope.”

What a description of Messiah! What a promise for Gentiles ~ it is in His name we hope.

How does this prophecy (which Jesus Christ fulfilled) affect you and me today?

Messiah ~ God”™s Servant Whom He chose.

Messiah ~ God”™s Beloved with Whom He is well-pleased.

Messiah ~ God”™s Spirit is on Him.

Messiah ~ God”™s act of justice to the Gentiles, through Him.

As a Gentile, I have full assurance of God”™s love for me through His Son, my Savior.

When anyone receives Jesus as their Savior, they are given His Holy Spirit to live within. (That is God”™s promise.) So, followers of Christ are “˜in Christ”™ and Christ is in each believer, each follower who lives according to what they know and understand about this abundant life.

Those who live according to God”™s word

place their hope in the name of Jesus.

Where is your hope placed?
