Any electrical appliance requires an electrical cord and plug attached to an appliance. For that appliance to work properly, it must be plugged in to an electrical source.

So, any follower of Christ must be “˜plugged in”™ to their source of power ““ God Himself. Jesus, the Son of God, lived in the power of the Spirit. How much more must we have that connection to the living God?

(NASB) Luke 4:14-15 “And Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about Him spread through all the surrounding district.

15 And He began teaching in their synagogues and was praised by all.”

Even Jesus, the Son of God, lived in the power of God”™s Holy Spirit. He did not live by His own power (as great as that had to have been).

Where do you consciously get your power to live, day by day? Is it from your own resources? Where do you get your strength to face life? For the believer who follows Jesus, our source of power comes from God. We need to be “˜plugged in”™ to God through our relationship to Christ as our Savior and Lord. It is only through Christ that anyone receives the Holy Spirit; there is no other one or no other way. That is what the Bible teaches, that is what God has communicated to us through His word, the Holy Bible.

Jesus was a popular Teacher throughout the region of Galilee. He was honored and praised. He went in the power of the Spirit of God.

When you or I try to do anything in our own power, our own strength, even if what we do is very good, it will not bear the fruit that it would if we went in the power of the Spirit.

What happens when we are in God”™s will? It is the Holy Spirit Who counsels and gives us guidance. We can step into our day by consciously putting our trust in God ““ no matter our circumstances. No matter what is catastrophic in our health, our emotions, our nation, God is still God. He has not changed”¦and He is worthy of our complete trust. We can step into our day with confidence in Him and Him alone. Is it hard? Absolutely!

But following Christ is to”¦Follow Him.

We too, are to live in the power of the Holy Spirit in the Today of our lives.

Jesus Christ has given us an example to follow and we are to follow in His steps!

(NASB) 1 Peter 2:20b-21 “But if when you do what is right and suffer for it you patiently endure it, this finds favor with God.

21 For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps.”

How are you going to follow

in the steps of Jesus today?
