Along what lines are you tempted? Perhaps you are tempted to take the easy way out, or you desire to satisfy your wants. Have you been tempted recently and were you successful in resisting that temptation only to be faced with an even bigger temptation?

Jesus faced three temptations that came rapidly, one following on the heels of another”¦while He was hungry from fasting. His temptations covered the areas that are our temptations”¦He has been there; He understands the temptations that come your way. He can help you”¦His words are your way out. Hang on, cling, and use God”™s words as your shield and defense. (See Ephesians 6:10-18)

(NASB) Matthew 4:8-10 “Again, the devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory;

9 and he said to Him, “˜All these things I will give You, if You fall down and worship me.”™

10 Then Jesus said to him, “˜Go, Satan! For it is written, “˜You shall worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only.”™“

What an offer”¦the Lord Jesus was being offered a shortcut to being King. But as with all things that sound too good to be true, it was too good to be true. Jesus would have to fall down in worship of Satan.

Jesus was choosing, again, to obey His Father”™s will ““ for you!

Jesus was choosing, again, to go to the cross ““ for you!

Jesus was choosing, again, to suffer ““ for you!

Jesus was choosing, again, to overcome sin, Satan and death ““ for you!

(NASB) Matthew 4:11 “Then the devil left Him; and behold, angels came and began to minister to Him.”

Beware of temptations and when the temptations are thwarted by resisting them, God will give you TLC”¦in His way and in His timing.

(NASB) Hebrews 4:14-16 “Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.

15 For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.

16 Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
