God”™s Judgment
The following is a scenario you may be able to relate to: You are walking through your day and you receive advice that does not come from a person who puts Christ first in their life.
What do you do in this instance? Do you choose not to walk with those who give ungodly advice?
Later in your day, you stand with a group of people who choose to say and do things that are not Biblically sound; in fact their choices are contrary to God”™s word.
Do you choose to leave this group of people who choose to be in opposition to God”™s word?
The scene shifts and you are sitting with people who are mocking those who follow Christ and His teachings. Do you get up and not be associated with those who mock God?
Another scene flashes on the screen of your mind and you see yourself as being delighted because you are reading God”™s word ““ during the day and at night ““ you are focusing your mind, your life on the Lord God Himself. (See Psalm 1:1-2)
God”™s judgment is on the wicked, on sinners, and those who mock Him, none of these will produce “˜good fruit”™. These people may be like the men John the Baptist challenged ““ the religious leaders of his day.
(NASB) Matthew 3:10 “The axe is already laid at the root of the trees; therefore every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.”
What is sobering about God”™s judgment?
The time is here, the time is now! You can no longer put it off, no more being able to say “˜I”™ll think about that tomorrow”™, no longer able to think that God will not judge, no more thinking “˜I am exempt because I am a “˜good person”™ or that “˜I haven”™t committed any big sins.”™
Being “˜good”™ is not good enough!
God”™s judgment is for all who do not produce good fruit, the fruit of righteousness. You and I need to be in right standing with God through the Lord Jesus Christ.
(NIV) Jeremiah 17:7-8 “But blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.
8 He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream, It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”
God”™s righteousness is the fruit He wants to produce in your life, is He?
