God”™s Forgiveness Needed
Some people like “˜lists”™. They make grocery lists, “˜to do”™ lists, lists for various needs for parties and social functions, lists made for the work day, and the list goes on.
One list that should be kept short concerns those things that are in my life that God does not like. When I commit, or omit, something that is a sin in my life, I need to confess it a.s.a.p.
(NASB) 1 John 1:8-10 “If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.”
Confession to God is then done with ““ it has been dealt with by me and that sin was dealt with by Christ on the cross. Confessed sin is forgiven by God through His Son, and then He remembers it no more. Amazing but true.
This is why we need Jesus”¦there is no other who has died for our sins!
(NIV) Micah 7:18-19 “Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy.
19 You will again have compassion on us; you will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea.”
John the Baptist went to the Desert of Judea and preached “˜Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.”™ (See Matthew 1:1-2)
You and I need to be forgiven by the living God for it is His rule and reign under which we are to live.
Receiving Jesus as our personal Savior is paramount in order to be under God”™s authority and protection.
This is why we need Jesus”¦He is King over all kings!
Is He your King? Is He the One Who forgives you? Are you keeping your “˜list”™ of sins short?
