Your heart has four chambers which work throughout your lifetime. Your blood is pumped through this amazing organ to every part of your body. Electrical impulses trigger your “˜pump”™. The heart, your heart, is absolutely necessary for you to live. You not only have this physical heart, you also have heart-shaped attitudes. Your attitudes “˜trigger”™ your heart responses to life, to others, and to God. Attitudes and motives can be defined as “˜whole-hearted”™, “˜half-hearted”™, and even “˜hard-hearted”™. What is your “˜heart”™ condition from a spiritual perspective?

Anna was of “˜great age”™. Her biography is given in two comprehensive verses. Her biography is an example of “˜whole-hearted”™ devotion to her God!

(NIV) Luke 2:36-38 “There was also a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was very old; she had lived with her husband seven years after her marriage, 37and then was a widow until she was eighty-four. She never left the temple but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying. 38Coming up to them at that very moment, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem.””

Serving God is the point of this Scripture”¦not many are called to worship night and day with fasting and prayer. But Anna was.

Serving God is a choice. How do you serve God? Is it with your whole heart? Is it done “˜half-heartedly”™? Perhaps you know of people who have a “˜hard heart”™ concerning God.

Serving God is to have a softened heart for God, one which quickly responds to His words in the Holy Bible.

How shall you serve God today?
