A baby boy or girl is a wonder to their parents. Their life is fragile. Two hands can easily hold a baby.

Mary and Joseph had taken the baby Jesus to Jerusalem to keep the Mosaic Law. (See Leviticus 12:1-8) While they were in the temple a devout man named Simeon met them. The Holy Spirit had revealed to him that he would not die until he had seen the Lord”™s Messiah. The long awaited and promised Messiah of God.

(NASB) Luke 2:28 “then he took Him into his arms, and blessed God, and said,

29 “˜Now Lord, You are releasing Your bond-servant to depart in peace, According to Your word;

30 For my eyes have seen Your salvation,”™””¦

To hold a baby in his arms and know that He was Messiah, that He was God Himself”¦what wonder must have filled Simeon.

Simeon blessed God. He recognized the answer to God”™s word being fulfilled”¦he was looking at, he was holding, God”™s salvation in his arms.

When we receive Jesus into our lives as our Savior”¦we are given salvation. How do you and I “˜handle”™ that wonderful gift? Or has God”™s great gift become routine?

Should we not “˜handle”™ our salvation as we would a newborn baby? Holding our salvation with wonder and tenderness? Should we not acknowledge to God that we have been given such a gift as salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ”¦Who came as a baby?

Will you now bless God for your salvation?

Your salvation which is through the Lord Jesus Christ?
