Once we have received the Good News of great joy, what do we do with it? Do we tactfully and lovingly tell others? Do we show others by our lives and our words that God has made a change in us? Or do we “˜keep quiet”™ because we are afraid of what others will say when we are not present?

The shepherds had been minding their own business of tending the sheep one night. An angel of the Lord came in the glory of God and gave them a message of great joy which was for all people. That angel also gave them a “˜sign”™ to prove that a Savior had been born”¦they would find Him in a manger. They would find Him in Bethlehem that night.

So the shepherds left their sheep and went into town”¦looking for a newborn baby and they found Him, just as the angel had said. They talked with the new mother, Mary. They told her what they had just experienced. (Mary thought about what they had said ““ not just that night but through the years as this Child grew into adulthood.)

Then the shepherds returned to their job of watching the sheep.

(NASB) Luke 2:20 “The shepherds went back, glorifying and praising
God for all that they had heard and seen, just as had been told to them.”

What examples can you and I follow which were given by those shepherds?

1 ““ Listen to God”™s word and believe it, it”™s true!

2 ““ Go back to the daily responsibilities and glorify and praise God for what He showed and said. It is personal and meant to be put into action.

3 ““ Listen to God through Biblically based sermons, hymns and praise songs, through prayers, through personally reading God”™s word.

4 ““ Tell others what God has done for you and know that His word is important and true for you.

How shall you now pray?
