What has happened in your life which you would never have thought possible when you were 10 years old? Think of at least four things…

I would think that when she was 10 years old:

Mary would never have thought of being chosen by God to bear His Son.

Mary would never have thought of going to Bethlehem to birth her child.

Mary would never have thought of going down to Egypt to escape the wrath of Herod.

Mary would never have thought that she would watch her Son die on a cross.

“˜For nothing will be impossible with God.’

(NASB) Luke 1:36 “And behold, even your relative Elizabeth has also conceived a son in her old age; and she who was called barren is now in her sixth month.”

What an astounding message this young woman received – Messiah to be conceived and birthed by Mary. Her relative, Elizabeth pregnant!

(NASB) Luke 1:37 “For nothing will be impossible with God.”

God’s plans are more than possibilities; His plans offer life, they give life to all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

Gabriel was sure of this message which he had delivered to Mary, straight from the presence of God. (See Luke 1:19).

What news have you recently received that astounds you, news that is hard to grasp, that is hard to believe? I think Mary may have had that kind of reaction.

Today’s astounding news: sins we commit can be forgiven…

For followers of Christ – we can know from Scripture that our sins are forgiven when we confess them in the name of Jesus. It is Jesus’ birth, life, death and resurrection that make it possible for God to forgive us when we confess our sins to Him in the name of His Son.

Have you come to the realization that you cannot save yourself from your sins, for eternity?

When did you come to know that you need a Savior?

Remember: nothing is impossible with God!

How shall you now pray?
