There was a man who had lost everything…he lost his wealth, he lost his children, he lost his health…he lost it all. His wife had no sympathy for him…and encouraged him to give up and die. His “˜friends’ accused him of wrong doing, why else would God treat him so…his loses were clearly all his fault. Through all of this emotional, spiritual and physical pain and torment he clung to his belief in God.
Do you cling to God when everything in your life has been destroyed, when everything you value and love has been taken from you? Listen to what Job said in
(NIV) Job 19:25-27 “I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand upon the earth.
26 And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God;
27 I myself will see him with my own eyes – I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!”
You and I may have that kind of faith which Job exhibited.
Job’s faith was in the living God many years before Christ Jesus lived on earth. Job believed in the redemption of his physical body in the presence of God Himself. God’s grace was richly given and wisely received by Job.
(NASB) Ephesians 1:7
“In Him (Christ Jesus) we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace”
God’s grace gives all the riches we need
through the life and blood of Jesus.
This rich grace is given to all who receive the gift of God’s Son.
Everyone deserves to die as a condemned person – a death that is punishment for our own sins. But praise be to God! Jesus Christ took our place on that cross of execution, He took my sins and yours as if they were His own and died. God’s requirement for justice was met by Jesus. Jesus paid the price for my sins and yours; He redeemed us through His blood (death). God the Father accepted that holy sacrifice and because He did, our sins are forgiven. what have you and I done to merit such a salvation? Nothing! It is all according to the grace of God – His riches of redemption.
(NASB) Ephesians 1:8-9a
“which He lavished on us. In all wisdom and insight
9 He made known to us the mystery of His will…”
You and I can never out-give God. His generosity is lavishly overflowing toward you and me. God’s wisdom, His understanding, supplies our every need.
All of God’s children are spiritually blessed through the Lord Jesus Christ:
