Genealogies are important reference points for one’s heritage, notable ancestors (or not so notable ancestors) and it also establishes legitimate succession to position and/or property.

Your family tree will show how you came to be through many generations. You are important and so were your ancestors, no matter who they were.

The lineage of David was of vast importance and was the basis for the lineage of Jesus Christ (Messiah).

(NASB) Ruth 4:18-22 “Now these are the generations of Perez: to Perez was born Hezron,

19 and to Hezron was born Ram, and to Ram, Amminadab,

20 and to Amminadab was born Nahshon, and to Nahshon, Salmon,

21 and to Salmon was born Boaz, and to Boaz, Obed,

22 and to Obed was born Jesse, and to Jesse, David.”

Jesus Christ is the true heir of David’s throne. He is the promised Messiah. The Old Testament, or Torah, is replete with prophecies of Messiah. His birth is foretold, His life’s work is foretold, His suffering and death is foretold. Minute details that were fulfilled by the Lord Jesus Christ are found in the Law and the Prophets of the Torah.

Christ Jesus is Immanuel (God with us)!

God’s truth is seen in Jesus Christ. He was conceived and born to Mary and Joseph.

Jesus Christ was fully man, a recognized historical figure. (See Matthew 1:1-16)

Christ Jesus is fully Man!

Jesus Christ is recognized as a prophetic figure – He was a priestly Messiah. His lineage is traceable back to God as His Father. (See Luke 3:23-38)

Christ Jesus is fully God!

Can you claim Jesus in your spiritual lineage? Can you say of God, He is my Father? If so, you are a child of God and Jesus Christ is your Savior.

If you cannot, then you need Jesus. He alone will save you from your sins. He is the resurrected Lord Jesus. “˜Listen’ to Jesus:

(NASB) John 5:24-27 ” “˜Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.’

25 “˜Truly, truly, I say to you, an hour is coming and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.

26 “˜For just as the Father has life in Himself, even so He gave to the Son also to have life in Himself;

27 and He gave Him authority to execute judgment, because He is the Son of Man.”

How shall you now pray?
