Ruth had gone into the fields to harvest food for herself and Naomi. She “˜happened’ to go to the field of Boaz that first day and had had a conversation with him. He had given her provision and protection.

Ruth returned home after a long day in the fields.

(NASB) Ruth 2:18 “She took it [barley] up and went into the city, and her mother-in-law saw what she had gleaned. She also took it out and gave Naomi what she had left after she was satisfied.”

***Ruth had eaten her fill and there was enough left to generously provide for Naomi. (See verse 14)

(NASB) Ruth 2:19a “Her mother-in-law then said to her, “˜Where did you glean today and where did you work? May he who took notice of you be blessed.’

***Naomi was being a typical mother, she wanted to know all about Ruth’s day. She was also grateful for the protection that Ruth had had that day. Naomi was interested for her beloved Ruth. She also added a sentence that you and I could add to our concerns for others… “˜May he who took notice of you be blessed.’

Do you do that? Do you recognize that others are to be blessed because of their notice that day? How often are we quick to judge the negatives in our day and not be thankful by blessing others for helping us?

When you and I recognize that God has been at work through others, shouldn’t we bless them? Too many times we are so intent on the negatives that we fail to see that God is indeed at work.

At the end of each – starting today – think about the circumstances and then bless those who have helped you in any way!!

Our attitudes of gratefulness will be a blessing to others as we praise our God for His work in and through others for our good.

“˜Praise God from Whom all blessings flow

Praise Him all creatures here below

Praise Him above ye heavenly host

Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost.

Amen.’

Is this your prayer?

Who do you need to bless today?
