Jacob knew he would die in the near future.  He summoned his sons saying, “Assemble yourselves that I may tell you what will befall you in the days to come.  Gather together and hear, O sons of Jacob; and listen to Israel your father.”  (NASB Genesis 49:1-2)

Jacob had to have thoughtfully prepared his last words for each of his sons; words that would impact their lives and their descendants far into the future.

The living God has thoughtfully prepared His words for each one of His children.  God’s children are those who have received Jesus Christ as their Savior.

Jacob told his sons to listen carefully and listen well to what he had to say.

God the Father says that to each of His children.  Listen carefully; listen well.

We are to listen carefully to the voice of God, through His word – to us.  We are to “obey the voice of His word” today!  (Psalm 103:20)

Listen well as He lays out His plans for you – and all who are called His children are to respond in obedience.  In order to obey, we will need to abandon our willful ways then follow His instructions.

~ Take it to heart ~

Listen carefully to God’s words to you ~ read thoughtfully; read prayerfully what God has to say – and then act upon them.

Listen well to God’s word to you ~ be thankful; be obedient; be expecting God to work in and through you – today!

(NASB) Psalm 103:21 “Bless the Lord, all you His hosts,
You who serve Him, doing His will.”

Listen Carefully; Listen Well
