To whom do you point when others commend you?
Do you take the credit and bask in the acclaims?

As a follower of Christ Jesus – all credit and glory belong to Him.
It is God, the living, Triune God who gives you the desire, the abilities and the results.

We are to give Him all the honor and take none for ourselves.

It is easy to take the credit for ourselves when in reality it is God who has worked in and through us.

Joseph was sent for by the Pharaoh to interpret a disturbing and troubling dream.  No one in Pharaoh’s service could interpret the dream.  Then Pharaoh heard about a Hebrew prisoner that interpreted two different dreams of two different men and the dreams were fulfilled as Joseph had said.

(NASB) Genesis 41:16 “Joseph then answered Pharaoh, saying, ‘It is not in me; God will give Pharaoh a favorable answer.”

Pharaoh was assured that Joseph would say what God would have him say about the dream.

Joseph was quick to point out that God would give the interpretation.

Are you quick to give God the credit when you are commended?

~ Take it to heart ~

(NASB) 1 Peter 4:11 “Whoever speaks, is to do so as one who is speaking the utterances of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.”

  Do you say:
God alone is to receive the credit for what I say and do in the name of Jesus Christ.
