Promises, many times, are easily made and as easily broken.  Parents want their children to behave so they give out quick promises, and then promptly forget them.  Children recognize and remember their parent’s broken promises.

Who have you promised something to with no intention of following through?  That hurts!

Broken promises have lasting effects in relationships.

What can we know about the living God of the Holy Bible?  He makes promises and never forgets to keep them.  He always fulfills His promises.  He has done it in the past and He continues to do it today.  In fact, He will also keep His promises in all of our tomorrows.

What are some of God’s promises…?
Paraphrase of 2 Corinthians 6:16-18

Followers of Christ are the temple of the living God –
He Himself lives in us –
He Himself walks among us –
He is our God –
We are His people –
He claims us, we are His own –

Nothing, nobody, can separate us from Him!
God says so!  This is security!

(NASB) John 10:27-29 “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me;
28 and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand.
29 ‘My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.”

More of God’s promises from 2 Corinthians 6:16-18

God Himself welcomes all who come to Him through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ –
He Himself is a Father to us –
We are His sons/daughters –

God, the Lord Almighty, says so!

~ Take it to heart ~

As a follower of Christ – I trust God’s promises – He never reneges or ignores them, He always fulfills them.

(NIV) Psalm 103:1-5 “PRAISE THE Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
2Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits –
3who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,’
4who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion,
5who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”

God, the Lord Almighty, says so!
