The Old Testament is important.  God’s words are always important… all of them.

The Old Testament or Old Covenant has to do with God’s Laws which no one can keep perfectly.  It is impossible.

God proves through His Law that we need His mercy and compassion.  His mercy and compassion are given to us through faith in His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ.

The Old Testament gives God’s laws, ordinances and rituals which are a “picture” of Messiah, the Anointed One of God; He is the Lord Jesus Christ.

Followers of Christ ~ we have hope through faith in Christ Jesus and this hope gives us boldness to speak.  This hope of the glory of Christ is given to us through the New Covenant.  This hope causes us to not hide our faith.

Belief in the Old Covenant alone – keeps a covering, a veil of unbelief over one’s thinking about Messiah Jesus.  The only way for that veil to be lifted ~ is by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as God’s Son and as Savior.

(NASB) 2 Corinthians 3:12-14 “Therefore having such a hope, we use great boldness in our speech,
13 and are not like Moses, who used to put a veil over his face so that the sons of Israel would not look intently at the end of what was fading away.
14 But their minds were hardened; for until this very day at the reading of the old covenant the same veil remains unlifted, because it is removed in Christ.”

The only way for the veil to be lifted, taken away from minds and hearts, is to turn to the Lord Jesus Christ and believe that He is Messiah, God’s Anointed One.  He alone saves anyone from their sins in the sight of God.

~ Take it to heart ~

(NASB) 2 Corinthians 3:15-16 “But to this day whenever Moses is read, a veil lies over their heart;
16 but whenever a person turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.”

Only through faith in Jesus alone can the veil of unbelief be removed from minds and hearts.

Who do I know who has a veil of unbelief covering their minds and hearts?  Perhaps it is me or someone I know.

(NASB) Acts 4:12 “And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”

Who do I need to share the great good news of Jesus Christ with today?
