As the sun itself is light – so God’s glory comes from Him alone.
As the moon reflects the light of the sun – so the Law and its ministry of death and condemnation is the reflected glory of God.

God’s glory far surpasses His reflected glory of the Law.

(NASB) 2 Corinthians 3:7-11 “But if the ministry of death, in letters engraved on stones, came with glory, so that the sons of Israel could not look intently at the face of Moses because of the glory of his face, fading as it was,
8 how will the ministry of the Spirit fail to be even more with glory?
9 For if the ministry of condemnation has glory, much more does the ministry of righteousness abound in glory.
10 For indeed what had glory, in this case has no glory because of the glory that surpasses it.
11 For if that which fades away was with glory, much more that which remains is in glory.”

The ministry of death and condemnation reflected the glory of God.

The ministry of the Spirit and righteousness is the glory of God.

~ Take it to heart ~

The Law given in the Old Covenant (the Old Testament) is the reflected glory of God.  The Law proves we are sinners; unable to keep all of those laws… this is why we need Jesus to save us from our sins.  Our sin keeps us from God for we cannot keep all of God’s Law.

God’s New Covenant is through His Son, His Anointed One, the Messiah.

We reflect God’s glory as we stay close to Him.

God’s glory is not reflected glory.  He is the source of glory!
