God’s word is written to us.

When we read God’s word – God is speaking.  Many times the Lord God of the Holy Bible gives words to encourage, strengthen and to lift our thoughts to Him.  God’s love will always have our best in mind.  Therefore, words of discipline and rebuke are used to grow us and to warn us to turn back to Him.

Faith in the living God is a witness to those among whom we live.  The believers in the days of the New Testament were under fire, they were persecuted for their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.  The same is true today!  We need God’s direction for our lives in hard times.

(NASB) 2 Corinthians 1:1-2 “PAUL, AN apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy our brother,
To the church of God which is at Corinth with all the saints who are throughout Achaia:”

The second letter to the Corinthian church was written 2,000 years ago.  It was relevant then and it is still relevant today.  At that time believers were persecuted for their faith and today followers of Christ are also persecuted.

Do we read God’s word believing He still has something to say to us?  Do we realize that He is waiting for us?  Do we understand that He wants to make a difference in our lives, our thinking and our words today as He did in the days of Paul?

Pray ~ As we approach the living God, pray – ask for understanding of what He wants to say.

Yield ~ As we approach the living God, yield to Him.
(NASB) Romans 12:1 “THEREFORE I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.”

Listen & put God’s words into action ~ As we approach the living God, we listen with our entire being then put God’s words into action.
(NASB) Romans 12:2 “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.”

~ Take it to heart ~

I need God’s words today just as Paul did in his day.

(NASB) 2 Corinthians 13:11 “… Aim for perfection, listen to my appeal, be of one mind, live in peace.  And the God of love and peace will be with you.”

Pray ~ Yield to God ~ Listen and put His words into action.
