(NASB) Hebrews 11:33, 37 “who by faith…”  37 “…they were put to death by the sword…”

God’s people have died because of their faith in the living God of the Holy Bible.

God’s people will die because their faith is in the living God.

God’s people do die, not because of being persecuted for their faith, but because they have physical bodies…and all people die.  However, God’s people die “in faith” in God their Savior.  They have assurance of being in the presence of the living God – forever.  God’s promises are permanent…because God is permanent.

How are God’s people to face their own death?  Our faith in the living God will give hope of His presence with us as we go through the door of death.

Followers of Christ, when we face the reality of our death, or the death of a loved one remember: our hope, our confidence, our faith is in the living God.  He is with us in life; He will be with us as we walk through the door of death into His presence.

(NASB) Psalm 23:1-4 (paraphrased) – This psalm is for all believers in the living God.

The Lord is your Shepherd.  He goes ahead of you – He has already experienced a cruel death on the cross – for you.

Since the Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ is your Shepherd, you have all you need for this day.

Your Shepherd makes you lie down in green pastures – He provides for your rest.

Your Shepherd leads you beside the quiet waters…to give you time apart from the pressures of life.

Question: Are you making time, are you taking time, to spend alone with God your Shepherd/Savior?  Are you being refreshed and given His rest each and every day?  Five minutes or 30, take time to read God’s word to you…talk with Him…He is personally interested in you!

Your Shepherd waits for you to come and be quiet before Him.  He restores your mind, your emotions and your will – He restores your souls.  This is reason enough to take time to think and pray before the living God.

Your Shepherd guides you in paths of righteousness – His integrity and reputation are on the line.  Where He guides you – there is where you are a witness to your God.

Take it to heart ~

(NASB) Psalm 23:4 “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me…”

Remember: our God is with us — every step, every breath of the way.

Immanuel ~ God with us!  He is ever-present!  He is eternal!  He is permanent!

By Faith ~ when we face death, our God is with us.
