(NASB) Hebrews 11:33, 37 “who by faith…” 37 “They were stoned…”

Naboth was a man who owned a vineyard that King Ahab wanted for his own.  Naboth refused to give the king the land, it was his inheritance and by Jewish law it was to be kept in his family.

King Ahab pouted and sulked until his wife assured him she would handle the matter.  And she did.  She set up Naboth and he was falsely accused of cursing God and the king.
Naboth was taken outside the city and stoned to death.
(1 Kings 21:1-14)

The king and his wife took whatever they wanted without thought of those from whom they stole.  They stole anything from anybody to satisfy their greed.  Life meant nothing to them…absolutely nothing.

Life without God is cruel, callous, and consistently unconcerned about others; yes, and even toward God Himself.

Naboth was a hero of faith – he did not deny his God-given inheritance.

Take it to heart ~

Naboth did not deny or change his mind – by faith he knew what God gave him – he knew his God-given inheritance.

(NASB) 1 Peter 1:3-5 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4 to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you,
5 who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”

Follower of Christ – you have an eternal, secure inheritance.

No one can take it away from you.

Your inheritance is undefiled, permanent and reserved with your name on it!
