(NASB) Hebrews 11:33, 35 “who by faith…” 35 “…and others were tortured, not accepting their release, so that they might obtain a better resurrection;”

The unnamed, these unknown men and women are heroes of faith.  Today, there are many such heroes.  Men and women who refuse to deny their faith on pain of suffering and death.

The Voice of the Martyrs sends out e-mails and mailings asking prayer for men and women, teens and families who are suffering for their faith.  You can go to “system@icommittopray.com” for more information on how you can pray.

How can we pray for these suffering for their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ?

If you were suffering, how would you want others to pray for you?  Pray in that way for others. There are many Scriptures which are appropriate.  Use God’s word, pray Scripture!

One way we can pray is to use Hebrews 12:1-2.
Ask the Lord to help these unnamed and unknown heroes to endure: to run the marathon race of life with endurance and keep the finish line in mind…Jesus is waiting for them!

Many times, the race may be an obstacle course – Jesus knows all about the obstacles which come into our lives.
(NIV) Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.”

Remember: The resurrected Jesus is our goal, keep our eyes fixed on Him.  He is the Author of our faith.  He is the One who perfects our faith…He is the Finisher of our faith.  Some of His last words from the cross were, “It is finished!”  He is waiting to receive each one of us into His physical presence.  We are not to deny such a great salvation.

Amazing isn’t it?  We have a living Savior waiting for each of us!

Jesus suffered and died a criminal’s death…He suffered shame because our sins were on Him.
Jesus endured the cross.  He knew the joy which was waiting for Him on the other side of His suffering and death.

We also are to endure and know that joy is waiting for us…the resurrected Jesus is physically waiting for us in heaven this moment.

Take it to heart ~

Pray for the unnamed and the unknown heroes of faith.  Pray that they will endure, and as they endure, to fix their eyes on Jesus.

(NASB) Hebrews 12:1-2 “…let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

By Faith ~ pray for the unnamed and
the unknown heroes of faith.
