God gave Moses specific instructions on keeping the Passover.  Moses followed through because he believed God.  Do you?  Do you believe what God says in the Holy Bible?  If so, are you doing what He says?

One example: have you received Jesus as your Savior?
(NASB) Acts 4:12 “And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”

Moses believed God’s words and his faith caused him to keep the first Passover.
(NASB) Hebrews 11:28 “By faith he (Moses) kept the Passover and the sprinkling of the blood, so that he who destroyed the firstborn would not touch them.”

Passover is a picture of Messiah’s redeeming work of keeping safe all who trust Jesus to be their Savior.

When Jesus died on a cross – He sacrificed His life’s blood as an offering for your sins and mine.  God the Father accepted the perfect and sinless blood sacrifice of His Son, Jesus, for our sins.  Our sins are paid for with the blood of Jesus.  He did that on the cross!

When anyone rejects Jesus or ignores Him, they are rejecting or ignoring their salvation through faith in Jesus – the only sin that is unforgivable.

The following are some of the main instructions for Moses and the picture found in Jesus.
Passover – take a one year old male lamb (or goat) without blemish. Exodus 12:3-5
Jesus – He came to take away our sins, in Christ, there is no sin.  He is without blemish. 1 John 3:5

Passover – kill the lamb at twilight.  Exodus 12:6
Jesus – died on a cross, the sacrificial Lamb of God.  John 19:30

Passover – take blood of the sacrificial lamb and put on the outer framework of each door. Exodus 12:7
Jesus – without blemish or spot, the sacrificial blood of Jesus paid for your sins.  It is faith in His blood that saves us. 1 Peter 1:19

PassoverGod’s judgment executed against anyone who did not have the sacrificial blood painted on their outer door frame.  God saved all who were within the house with the blood on the frame of the outer door.  Exodus 12:11-13

Jesus – He came to save those who turn to Him by faith.  He saves those who believe in Him from eternal judgment of God.  By His sacrifice all who believe in Him are saved.  Matthew 18:11

Take it to heart ~

It is the blood of Jesus that has paid for our sins.  When we receive Jesus as our Savior…we are saved from the penalty of our sins.  We are saved from God’s judgment against our sins because Jesus already suffered for those very sins.

By faith Moses kept Passover; by faith we are to turn to Jesus, receiving His work in our behalf.  God’s judgment will “pass over” us.

Have you received God’s “Passover” for your sins by faith in Jesus as your Savior?

Who do you know who needs to hear this great good news?
