Moses’ parents were slaves in Egypt and they were poor.  His adoptive mother was the daughter of Pharaoh and rich with all the riches of Egypt available to her and her family.

There are always sharp contrasts between the “haves” and the “have not’s” of this world.

Moses had it all as he was growing up, wealth, education, fleeting pleasures without number and a privileged position.  Yet, Moses chose the greater riches found in Messiah, the Anointed One of God who was to come.  He looked for the highest and richest reward which took him into eternity.

(NASB) Hebrews 11:24-26 “By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter,
25 choosing rather to endure ill-treatment with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin,
26 considering the reproach of Christ (Messiah) greater riches than the treasures of Egypt; for he was looking to the reward.”

No matter the level you live in your culture – you also can choose Messiah as Moses did.
The promised Messiah, the Anointed One of God, was fulfilled in Jesus.

(NASB) Matthew 1:16 “Jacob was the father of Joseph the husband of Mary, by whom Jesus was born, who is called the Messiah.”

Many people read of Messiah and assume He will come as a conquering King…and He will.  However, Messiah came in a completely unexpected way.  A way that only God could and did put together to fulfill all the prophecies of Messiah as the suffering Servant.
All, all the prophecies of Christ’s first advent were fulfilled!  Every one of them.

Moses chose against the riches of Egypt and the assumptions of people.  He chose the reality of God to fulfill His promises through Messiah.

What do you choose – the assumed expectations of people?  Or do you choose the reality of the fulfillment of God’s promise found in Jesus Christ alone?

Take it to heart ~

When you choose God, He rewards your faith in His Son.

(NIV) Romans 10:11-13 “As the Scripture says, ‘Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame.’  12For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile–the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13for, ‘Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’”

Moses chose the riches found in Messiah and not the riches of Egypt.

How are you choosing to live your life?

Are you depending on the riches found in this world or the riches found only in Jesus Christ (Messiah)?
